1877 by Asaph Hall, it is 7.24 times more massive than its sister moon, Deimos.

Phobos is a small, irregular and rocky body. It has numerous craters, the main one of which is named Stickney. The impact that caused this huge crater could have almost shattered the moon.

Phobos was viewed by the Curiousity craft in 2013.
